Mystery

Thursday, December 18, 2008

"What are you?" they asked,
"Are you a god? Wizard? Man?"
"I'm awake," said he.

At the break of dawn
Birds begin to wake and fly
As light creeps up sky

Lotus blooming Now
Last year pond was full of mud
Clear waters flowing

Little hut in the forest
Hidden by greening vine
A place invisible to all others
A place that's only mine
A bed of embers
Ashes swept clean
Windowless windows
Wide open between...

Like a light cloud, a soft drizzle
of rainfall over the garden.
In the wetness of the yard,
I stand and look at the clouds of
tiny green leaves covering the
orchard of plums. These are the
very same plums that pushed off
white blossom carpets that now
cover the ground around and
beneath their still winter-black
limbs. Although green sprouts of
spring poke bravely up through
cold clods of earth at my feet, the
tall ghosts of last years' goldenrod
bathe and bask like clouds of
forgotten memories in the rays and
beams of light pouring down and
drowning in this light drizzle of spring.

a thousand forgotten words
weary legs
money in purse
worse
solemn talk
partly guess z
slightest folly
on the aisle
zz blushing
walk
weary
thy hearer
abrupt
searching of wounds
kissing of petals
chapt hands
weeping tears
mortal nature
aware
wood
faint
shallow rivers
falls
a thousand forgotten words

When I look at my reflection in the pond a fish leaps into the air nearby, splashes the water and I disappear. Then when the water becomes still, there I am again!
...................................
an infinite point

potential for anything
always free to be
....................................

..dining out
beneath the canopy of heaven
little haven, lovely sphere narrower
than ocean wider than time
all streams pour into mind
............................................
Grass is green

though by moonlight seen
with fair delight
as lily white
When daisies disappear and violets shyly hang their head,
secret desires thus begin to burn a blushing red.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow
One little moment from each we borrow
A little laughter, a little sleep,
a little sadness and sorrow.
To each it's own, it's own all alone
each moment shall be itself
All of itself, this that is,
and none shall be stored on the shelf,
Each shall come and each shall go,
none shall stay static in time
There's no tomorrow, yesterday's gone.
Today stands alone sublime.

Twilight Tale
See the green grass tufted well
From pastures back to barn
Low the sun falls in the west
'Tis time to hear a yarn
Shoo the flies,
bat the eyes
Chew the cud so slow
Round and round and round the calf
Chase them out the row
For twilight comes to winter's night
'Ere the moonrise full
So draw the pail,
to living's flow
Let thy feet onward go
For yonder kitchen's jewel.
